New skin, new me

Description

Did you know that as caterpillars develop, they grow a new larger exoskeleton underneath their outer skin and then shed, or moult, the old one? Here you can see the recently moulted skin behind the caterpillar. This was a lucky moment to capture because shortly after moulting, the caterpillar eats the shed skin.
